The subject for the second letter in the alphabet was a tricky one for me. The theme I chose was blackness. There’s so much darkness in today’s world that it’s actually difficult to see the light in things around us. Again, I chose the slow motion effect which is something I am completely in love with at the moment. Slow motion for me forces me to take in the beauty of EVERYTHING around me. I have time to grasp it properly. I combined light and darkness with this theme to show how they go hand in hand and also realism of how we as human society needs to be careful as we embark on a happy journey of alcohol and speed and we always need to be safe and think about the consequences of our actions. To always make sure it ends up safe. That our happy choices ends up in happy consequences.
This year has started with a fast motion, but I have decided to take on a project which will push me creatively even further. The video attached is the first in a series of films where I will take each letter of the alphabet as a theme and create a short film about that. One to two minutes, depending on the subject.
This film is called “Abstract”. Each subject will be my own rendition of what I see that subject be in my head. It could be random, it could be styled, who knows where it’ll take me.
With this video I purposefully concentrated on the slow motion capabilities of my iPhone 5S. Each film I will be concentrating on something different, whether it’s camera, scrip[t, style, post production etc etc.
